  1. Thanks so much for setting up this site and organising everyone to think about other options from this site.

I wondered whether this could perhaps be a brainstorm of ideas rather than just voting on the six ideas? What concerns me is the financial viability of the ideas put forward so far.

What comes over loud and clear is that another supermarket there is NOT wanted!

However, I wonder if part of the site could be 'factory shops' like a mini Bicester (but with nice architecture that blends in with old Tenbury Wells)? It could perhaps have outlets from some of the locally owned businesses like The White Company, Tyrwhitts, LK Bennet, or high end products like Mulberry, Polo etc. This would bring people to Tenbury without conflicting with the businesses already there.

  2. I will be submitting my comments on one of the questionnaires.

I think that the River Teme is a severely unused tourist attraction. Having recently been to Symonds Yat (river wye) (swimming in the rapids) it was obvious to me how popular the river was, and how many people were canoeing/boating etc.

The site in Tenbury is ideally situated for an activity centre for the river, canoe hire etc, with picnic benches overlooking the river (there really isn't anywhere nice to sit and eat at park benches close to the town centre, without walking some distance (through the car park) to the burgage.)

Access would be needed to the river from the yard, and also the burgage could be brought in with the site, by taking down the fence between the burgage and the top end of the auction yard.

The river walk would need tidying up, and the beach area under the bridge would also need to be tidied.

If this area was an inviting, busy, bustling area (particularly in summer), the tourist information office would be in an ideal location in Temeside House.

  3. Oo I like that last comment.. There is access to the Teme at the bridge. It is an SSSI but is canoe-able right down to the Talbot etc [landowners rights reaching to mid stream either side but rights are blurred if you're directly in the middle and don't intent to egress on their land]. At Llangollen they make full use of the Dee with various outdoor persuits outfits utilising it from the bridge upstream etc..

Bockleton Hall should consider using it?
